Comfort Food Angel

On a cot in hospital beside my child for weeks, I’d lost more than my appetite. “How’s your girl doin’,” asked the cafeteria server.
“Not a good day.”
With one slight nod he doled out an unsolicited ridiculous massive portion of mashed potatoes and gravy.
Best breakfast ever.
