MARI (the Mandala Assessment Research Instrument) is a projective assessment tool and process based on the work of Carl Jung, the eminent psychologist, which encourages self-discovery, personal exploration, growth and an authentic peek into the self. It provides information about YOU that only you have access to from the inside. As one of my clients described it, “MARI is like a very cool peek under the hood of who I am.”
The MARI process is non-invasive, confidential, and a pleasant experience that allows you to see more of you on your own terms. MARI may show you things you already know and also give you ideas about your deeper self. It is a bit like being an archeologist finding the deep meanings of yourself. MARI is a safe and simple way to gather information that may be just below the surface. It opens a door, and if you want to peek inside it is up to you.
A MARI assessment is NOT A DIAGNOSTIC TOOL.
It is a self-exploration tool.
The practitioner will offer you some ways to look at your assessment and then, you make your own decisions about what it means or doesn’t mean. Jung believed that it is the dreamer who must interpret his/her own dreams, not some external “expert.” In the same way, the MARI practitioner will offer you ideas, but it will be up to you to see if they fit or not. In other words, ”Take what you like and leave the rest.”
The MARI begins with coloring a mandala, which is in essence a drawing of your own unique design inside a circle. No art skill is required. The drawing is then followed by making a selection of cards that have been scientifically researched and designed, and then having a gentle and positive interpretive discussion between you and the MARI practitioner about your drawing and the cards you selected.
MARI sessions usually take about 1.5 hours.
FEES for a MARI Session are a Pick-Your-Own Fee between $75 to $125.
